School Expo - Thursday 5th July!
On Thursday we are holding an Expo to showcase lots of amazing things that are happening here at LAS.
PE -Basketball
Since the rippa rugby tournament we have been focusing on basketball during our PE sessions. Our skills have improved greatly throughout our lessons. Dribbling, passing, shooting and game sense have been the focus. Our session with Shea, our sports activator, gave us some more drills and games that we could play to practice our skills.

Games with Year 9s
Last Thursday Mr Auld brought in his year 9 maths class to teach us some classic games; pick up sticks, knucklebones, noughts and crosses and dominoes. It was great to see our class interacting with some senior students and playing games we hadn't played before or played for awhile. The year 9 students made great teachers!

STEM Challenge - Egg Capsule
Our most recent STEM challenge (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) was to make a capsule that would protect an egg when it was dropped from a 3m height. We had some very innovative and impressive creations...some not so successful...but it was a fun challenge with 2 out of 6 eggs cracking on landing.
Morning Programme - What's in the bag?
The bag was large...and had something round inside of it...everyone thought it was Viktor's guinea pigs or rats...but how wrong were we!?
After working out that Viktor's morning programme of "what's in the bag?" was something to do with space, but it wasn't a planet, or a globe, or a star...we were stumped!!
Viktor left the room for awhile and we were all left wondering what was going to happen when he returned...A REAL LIFE ASTRONAUT!
Well done Viktor for a very interesting 'What's in the bag?'
